had this real swell molecular biology workshop today. we did electrophoresis of gecko DNA. the class had a thrill time squirting dyed water at each other using the micro-pipettes… Eunice and I just sat at one side and prayed hard that we would not get shot at.
Bryan had his eyelid stained with the dyed water, which kind of made him look like he had eyeshadow. it was actually quite funny, haha. pictures because we were bored:

team lunch afterward. kind of regretted eating, since it was 2 hours before training. hung out in the back-of-the-hall toilet with Diana afterward cuz it was much cooler there (strangely) compared to the canteen. according to her, mooching around in that toilet wasn’t weird since it had two doors and had a rather “open” feel. watched the guys play soccer and improvised baseball at the back of the hall after and had a real nice chat with Diana (i hope you feel better, my dear).
still remember EQ scrambling to borrow the narrative Chinese handbook so he could rush through 2 essays in order to gain enough marks to pass Chinese overall. craaaaaazy. i’ll keep to mine and just suck it up with the 3-month programme next year (at least i’ll have Diana with me).
training was absolutely fantastic since Ms Yu was back. owing to some confusion with the lightning warnings, we ended up doing the sprint drills at the parade ground, which was horrible since the ground was so uneven and hard… stupid concrete. later we had a pretty light schedule of resistance runs and medicine ball. during cool-down jog, lightning struck behind us and we all ducked and cowered right in the middle of the dark, unlit track before yelling incomprehensibly (Ralph: “!@#$ stop taking photos of me”) and completing the cool-down jog at lightning speed in order to dash back into the shelter of the canteen.

went to the Uncontained art exhibition with the two WJs, Daryl and KJ after training. quite interesting, i must admit. we watched a couple of short films and cross-examined some rather strange sculptures.
it was nice to end it off with a nice trip to the airport for dinner and to pick up mum. i could use more days like this.
